What is bitterness ?
Albert Einstein said " Life is like a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving ". Once you stop pedalling or stop keep moving you may lose your balance which ultimately leads to fall down. One has rightly said " Life is movement". But this is also a fact that the movement which has no clear objective and goal can not be called life since any movement which has no clear direction, objective or destination either crashes into hurdle or doesn't last long. In fact, our knowledge, thoughts and experiences always keep guiding us time to time as to which direction we need to keep moving.
But this is also a reality that there is a close relationship between movement and hurdle. Where there is movement, there is possibility of presence of obstacles. As far as life is concerned, it has to go through various kind of hurdles during its movement. At times, because of some or other factors, you have to speed up movement of life through your thought and experiences and sometimes it has to be slowed down in order to protect it from getting it trackless or crashes with the hurdles.
When willingly or unwillingly movement of life is given speed or slow it down, we have to face some kind of changes inside us as speed is controlled by our thoughts and experiences which eventually leave a sort of both negative and positive impact on life. Anger is the result of the negative impact which life has to face during its movement.
What is bitterness ? Bitterness is in fact an another face of feeling of anger. Bitterness generally reflects in person's negative behaviour who had gone through different type of incessant failures, rejection, humiliations and setbacks in ones life at different point of time. In fact, when we reach at stage of maturity we start exploring the scope for ourselves in all department of life. Fact of the matter is that in pursuit of those opportunities and scopes all of us have to face a lot of failures and obstacles. Some of the failures and obstacles are able make you angry and and some are so severe that they ultimately contribute immensely in creating bitterness in your behaviours. It doesn't matter that the anger is pertinent or impertinent but it definitely effects your behaviour at different point of time. In fact, the anger that persists longer turns into bitterness. Some kind of anger and resentment go away with the passage of time but some of them leave indelible mark on your mind it persist for longer time. But as it is said that time is healer. If you keep moving with proper thought and guidance even all kind of bitterness from your life gradually can disappear. In short, hurdle is the main reason behind the emergence of bitterness in life and all of us have to face it while moving on in life.
Some harmful effects of bitterness -
1. It makes you cynical. Every thing around you look dubious.
2. It may cause of hinderence in your progress.
3. Bitter behaviour may make you aggressive at some point of time.
4. You forget your strength. It even may make you destructive in your behavior.
5. You keep blaming others for your bitter behaviours that ultimately causes of break in relationship and it effects your social life.
How to get rid of bitterness -
1. Forgiveness - . To keep a balanced life is not easy but not impossible. Fact is that every one has to pass through from different kind of events in life which cause of losing balance. The way vehicle is repaired to start it again if it gets damaged similarly our balanced life also gets effected by some or other ways. Forgiveness is in fact one of repairing tools that helps in giving a balance to life by mending your effected emotions and feelings. Forgiveness may remove different kind of misgivings and misconception from you as well in others it helps in bringing a balance to one's life.
2. Forget - Some of the events are unforgettable but in order to move on in life one has to forget even some of the unforgettable moments of life. If you keep flipping through the pages of history of failures and mistakes you hardly move ahead in your objective. Remembering the bad past undoubtedly tease everyone. Hence instead of carrying the pain of the past, forgetting the bad memories can help great extent in reducing the bitterness in life.
3. Distraction - Sometimes, memories of bad and unpleasant experiences of the past always keep haunting us. In fact, it has enough potential to make your future much worse. So getting distracted is the only way out to protect the life from getting it much bitter.
4. Self - confidence - Develop self confidence. You need to motivate yourself to get rid of your fear, weakness, flaws which had not let you cross over the hurdle in life.
5. Be flexible - At times, obstinacy doesnt let us allow to forget the bad memory of past. So instead of sticking to the unpleasant memory we need to be flexible in our thinking and approach if we really want to move on in life.
6. Keep - moving - First lesson what one needs to learn is to instead of looking back and stick to unpleasant memories of past one should believe in just keep moving having ignored all the bitterness, obstacles and failures. All the unpleasant memories and bitterness will never mar present as well as future If one will keep moving on in pursuit of one's objective.
One has rightly said " Bitterness is like cancer, it eats upon the host....". In brief, sometimes we do overcome some of those hurdles that become impediment for a happy life and sometimes we are unable to overcome some of other hurdles which eventually create bitterness and anger in us. Hence, for living a balance life we need to remove all those harmful elements that mar the prospect of happy life. And bitterness is one those harmful elements that effects all of us at some point of time.
